The Role
The work is varied and interesting. Great work environment too. Many additional opportunities within the company and at external conferences.
Colleagues were very helpful and also gave many opportunities to present work and finding within the group.
Weekly 1hr meeting. Any time I had questions I felt I could ask. Time was always made for extra meetings if required
First few months or so were not as busy, but as my project developed I found all my time busy at work and I was never at a loose end.
It was enough to feel useful and like I was adding value to the group. But not too much that it was daunting to start.
The technical skills will definitely help in future. There were opportunities to spend time shadowing in other departments to gain extra knowledge aswell. The independant learning and management of time will help in my final year studies, and the confidence I have gained is incredible.
The Company
Very comfortable place to work.
Organisation has been great. it was a little delayed in starting but only because we wanted to tie in with ongoing projects in other departments
There were full-day seminars and lectures put on to help develop our knowldge of the industry and our personal skills.

The Culture
yes, there is a group for new people starting and the interact with graduates on another programme too. Socials and events were put on both during work and outside
Very cheap area to live in.
There are pubs/bars and clubs in the area but most of the time you would have to travel into manchester.
Several conferences, with the opportunity to present at one at the end of placement. Teambuilding days and events too.
