About You
I enjoyed the insight to a large extent, as it gave me very thorough information and knowledge not only about the firm itself, but also the legal industry as a whole, which made me particularly interested in doing commercial law as a career in the future.
I feel that every member in the scheme were very valued during our time at the firm, because the team leaders gave us very useful feedbacks during group discussions and were very willing to answer any questions.
I received some guidance during the insight, particularly during the application workshop and branding session, where the staff in charge were able to provide specific tips and information in these areas. However, I feel that there was insufficient guidance during the negotiation workshop.
The skills developed include analytical skills and communication skills, which I believe will be incredibly useful in my studies of the law as well as my career beyond.
The Company
The insight was very well structured, most of the activities were on time according to schedule and the accommodation provided was very convenient.
The general atmosphere was good in general, we were always involved in doing something.
To some extent - I gained some personal training and development in terms of personal branding during networking events as well as negotiating skills.
The shadowing session was particularly useful in helping me to understand the full time role with the firm. It made me feel that there was a good balance between work and social life within the firm itself, which compromises well given the stress that may be faced by some solicitors at certain times.
It helped quite a lot - I think the culture of the firm is unique, because there is an extremely friendly atmosphere despite the large size of the firm.
It was quite valuable, as I became more interested in the career as a solicitor given the balance of the work - healthily competitive.
Everything Else
n/a
No.
They were good, I particularly enjoyed the cooking workshop which was very enjoyable and was the perfect opportunity to balance off the intense legal-related activities during the day.
Yes, I learned that there are many recreational societies within the firm itself, including their sports teams. There is also a gym in the office building, which gives employees the opportunity to maintain a healthy life balance.
Yes, definitely.
