    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • Activities and sessions were well-planned, engaging, and informative. The firm's representatives were very friendly and approachable, as were the other interns. I enjoyed myself very much during the week.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • A lot of effort was made to ease the interns into the firm's culture even though it was only for one week, from the tour of the Rothschild archives to the tea session with the Directors, and overall everyone felt very welcome. I particularly enjoyed the shadowing sessions with the analysts.

    4/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • Analysts were very approachable, and were very willing to spend time to give their opinions regarding our ideas, which helped a lot in preparing for the presentation.

    5/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The information gained during the programme is useful for those who intend to/are considering whether to pursue a career at Rothschild, or in investment banking in general. The presentation skills workshop was excellent, and definitely one of the highlights of the programme.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • It was quite well-structured, with the sessions giving good insights into the firm, and ultimately all leading up to the presentation, which I thought was quite useful. Having to do the presentation allowed us apply the information that we gained over the week.

    4/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The atmosphere was great and not particularly competitive, and I made a few friends while at the same learning much about Rothschild and the industry as a whole.

    5/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The people who conducted the training sessions were very knowledgeable, and the firm also brought in people to conduct a presentation skills training session, which was excellent.

    5/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • The training sessions gave me information about the type of work that is done at Rothschild, while my conversations with analysts helped me understand what it is like to have a full-time role with the firm.

    4/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • The culture and ethos of the firm was constantly referred to during the programme, and we were able to see it in our interactions with everyone at the firm as well.

    5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • The content was valuable in terms of deciding whether the particular industry was right for me, as well as the firm itself.

    5/5

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • Travel and accommodation expenses were covered.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • There was a networking lunch with analysts, as well as a tea session with directors. Apart from that there were 2 work shadowing sessions with analysts which I found particularly useful and informative, so overall there were plenty of networking opportunities.

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • In addition to the networking opportunities previously mentioned, there was a social event for the interns at the end of the first day, and we had lunch together everyday (apart from the day with the networking lunch) as well.

    5/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • Yes, the firm runs a community volunteering programme, and the interns were given the chance to take part in a session with the London Wildlife Trust.

    3/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • Yes.
