The Role
I really enjoyed it, as I was able to learn a lot about American Express and the job was very flexible, so I was able to fit it around my university studies.
My colleagues were very approachable, and I felt comfortable getting in touch with colleagues both at American Express and On-Campus Promotions.
Elle at On-Campus Promotions was always there to answer my questions and offer advice.
The job was very flexible, so I was able to tailor it to fit around my university work.
Within the broad goals outlined by American Express, I was given considerable responsibility to organize events which I felt would be most effective in reaching a wide number of Oxford students.
I was able to familiarize myself with working in the corporate environment, which will be useful going forward in my career.
The Company
As the role was quite individual, we spent very little time in an office, but our training and debrief days in the American Express offices were very inclusive, and there was a lot of emphasis on team-building.
The work expectations and projects were quite straightforward.
As well as the training day, we were given significant opportunities to meet people from American Express from a number of different departments, and to build a network of colleagues, as well as our interpersonal skills.

I was left with a very positive outlook on the company, as well as a strong network, so would feel hopeful on applying for a job with American Express.
The Culture
As there was only one American Express Brand Ambassador at each of the relevant universities, we had relatively little opportunity to build up a social scene between the Brand Ambassadors, however the training and debrief days gave us a good opportunity to network.
N/A - as university town.

There were opportunities for award schemes such as the Brand Manager Awards, which we were encouraged to enter by On-Campus Promotions.
