The Role
Thoroughly enjoyed the work placement - worked with some incredibly smart people and the atmosphere was friendly. I have progressed in both terms of technical development and smart skills massively throughout the year.
Very much so. I was given significant responsibility and treated like a regular analyst.
I had a 'buddy' in the firm who gave me support when I started to help me adjust from university life to working professional. I also had a mentor who I could go to for any questions about career development, etc. We had formal quarterly reviews with our managers and HR to ensure we were on the right track to receive an offer, and emphasis was placed on what candidates can do to improve themselves for the next review.
Being treated like a real analyst, you will have a real workload. Being an investment bank, time is money, so things are quite fast paced and most of the time there is plenty to occupy yourself with.
Basically treated as an analyst who had been through the graduate program.
I've learnt a huge amount over the year and have progressed my technical skills significantly. Training and soft skills are also very present in the program.
The Company
The office was surprisingly relaxed but generally professional.
Very well organised - the work placement program directly feeds into the graduate scheme so they put a lot of effort into ensuring everyone has a good experience.
The firm invested significantly in both my technical development and professional development.

Chances of receiving a grad offer after a work placement are very high.
The Culture
Very much so, everyone got on very well and frequently spent time together outside of work.
London is pretty pricey but working at a bank you are compensated appropriately
London. That is all.
Yep, the firm organises some stuff you can do outside of work if you want to.
