The Role
I have genuinely really enjoyed my time as Brand Ambassador. Even from the interview stage of the process, I was excited by the job thanks to the friendly and welcoming nature of staff (Eileen has been great!). Communication between the company and brand ambassadors has been great, you never feel isolated, despite very rarely being in physical contact with anyone from OCP.
I have felt valued by Eileem all year round. She is friendly and approachable, consistent in her replies, and very grateful for everything you do. The Facebook group was a good way of making connections between brand ambassadors, although I do think relationships between ambassadors is something which could be improved. Despite meeting them briefly on the induction day, no other physical contact is made throughout the year. This is a shame as being closer would allow for more ideas and inspiration to be shared. Perhaps a mid year review day in December ish?
I have never been in doubt that Eileen would be at the other end of the phone if I had any questions! She was always informative about what needed to be done, at the same time as giving you freedom to devise the work load around your personal schedule. Charlotte Winderham at Deloitte has also been very supportive. She had always been quick to respond and support me through any queries.
The balance here was okay. It was sometimes frustrating that a high week of work load would come at a stressful time academically/ university wise. For example the report / competitor events time of year clashed with our own personal applications for placements. Obviously this is unavoidable, however is worth recognising that it is a stressful time for students. Even just acknowledging this would be very much appreciated.
I was very surprised by the amount of responsibility this roll entailed! It really is down to you to spread the word about Deloitte around campus, through using your own imitative and contacts you have built.
The network of contacts I have built through this roll has been incredible. From staff in the careers centre, to society committee members, these are contacts which will be invaluable to me in keeping me up to date with suitable events and opportunities throughout the rest of my time at uni and beyond. Amongst many other skills, I believe that communication has been enhanced greatly through this roll. Approaching people around campus with flyers and doing lecture shout outs initially seemed very daunting, but i now have the skill set to do it. Communicating via social media has become a daily / weekly routine. This has taught me how best to formulate tweets/ posts yo get the best response. Social media promotion will undoubtedly be highly useful to me!
The Company
The energy on the Facebook group was usually fairly high, thanks to Eileen.
It was generally very well organised, with a schedule for each individual being distributed at the start of the year. This was vaguely stuck too, with some changes. Sometimes work would be allocated at a very late stage, however due to the predominantly social media nature of this work, this was not too demanding.

I would be thrilled to work with On Campus Promotions again. Staff are a delight to work with as they are engaging, friendly and challenge you. It seems a great company to work for, and a company who would provide you with many contacts.
The Culture
Unfortunately not, and this is something I feel should be encouraged more. Having ambassadors from all over the country obviously makes this hard, but I feel it would be invaluable in the sharing of ideas and inspiration.
