The Role
Microsoft is a fantastic company to work for, with a great culture and plenty of opportunities available.
From day one I was made to feel like a full time employee, not just as an intern!
My manager was very supportive and would always assist me with any queries I had and dedicate time for me to run through anything I needed help with.
Usually my days would be a perfect balance of work, although certain busy periods did mean staying slightly longer to finish all tasks.
Within my role I took ownership of different areas for my team, and was given a range of core priorities with high levels of responsibility to deliver impact for the company.
I have been able to develop my technical skills, soft skills and knowledge to be able to apply in my final year of university and into a graduate career.
The Company
The office is a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere, the perfect environment to work in!
Interns had the opportunity to have a mentor within the company, and have a senior leadership mentor to aid their insights and development during the year.

Unfortunately there is no graduate scheme in the finance sector, however I do have opportunities to come back as a contractor if there are positions available.
The Culture
Interns were all very collaborative, and would often socialise outside of work in the evenings and at weekends.
Reading price of living is average for the south, I felt I had a suitable level of income to cover living costs and socialising.
There are plenty of nightclubs in Reading to go to and London is within close proximity for city nightlife
Yes there were opportunities to attend external events, sports activities etc
