The Role
Fantastic placement, the company have a great work life balance and allow you to excel as a person. I have improved my skills vastly and have learnt a great deal from my peers.
From the minute I started my role played an integral part of the team, I was a cog in the machine and I knew I was valued as a team member
Weekly meetings and the university staffing team being easily contactable I have found that whenever I needed support somebody was willing to help
As an individual who does not like to be left with nothing to do my role was perfect. I was busy everyday and had the opportunity to adjust my workload whenever needed, whether that is delegating work elsewhere or asking for more work
I was personally responsible for a lot of campaigns that ran across EMEA and occasionally on a global scale. You are treated as a full time employee thus your campaigns are just as important as any of your team members, for example running the YouTube channels for the UK, France, Italy, Germany and Spain for Xbox.
When I first joined I had previous work experience and I was ambitious, however Microsoft has sculpted my abilities and skills and I know feel equipped to move onto a graduate scheme, they accomplished this through training schemes and exams as well as day to day lessons from your manager or members of the team
The Company
Great atmosphere, even though there were times due to the restructure that there was a more mellow atmosphere, however people came together as a team more than ever at these times
The internship was well organised from start to finish, from the first training week until the last training workshop I attended with my manager. I had a very well structured role
The company offers exams, training schemes and day to day advice
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
National Travel
International Travel
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Working from home
Healthcare/Dental
I will be applying back to the MACH scheme as it is a fantastic company which shares my values
The Culture
Very good, if you like a good night out or to travelling together I have made great friends with both other interns and colleagues
Compared to where I originally lived it was more expensive however with the salary you receive you can live comfortably
Awesome! You can have a great night in Reading or travel to London which is 30 mins away
A lot of opportunities, Microsoft has a social alias you can sign up to which offers new activities to partake in every day
