The Role
My year at Microsoft has been incredible. I've had amazing opportunities, met some amazing people and developed so many skills.
You are treated like any other employee.
With weekly 1-1s these provide valuable opportunities to check in and have guidance around projects. Collaboration and help is a key part of the culture at Microsoft and everyone is always willing to give you their time.
I've never been bored! Always something to get involved and work on, had a great work life balance.
I had the opportunities to run projects, manage social channels and coordinate numerous events. The amount of responsibility you get is up to you!
Developed so many skills and dramatically improved my knowledge in so many areas. These will undoubtedly help me in future Job opportunities.
The Company
The standout part of Microsoft for me. The culture is incredible, so friendly, encouraging, collaborative and welcoming. Everyone is always willing to give you their time, no matter how high up they are.
Very organised and well run, we had structured social events, check in and syncs with the University Staffing Team.
We had the opportunity to develop different skills outside our job area. Personal development projects allowed us to develop skills and knowledge in different areas, whilst 101 teams allowed us further opportunities to expand our skills sets. Also had the opportunity to take Microsoft office exams for free.

The Culture
With 120 interns and 70 being In Reading, this has been great.
Reading is quite expensive and going out is pricey, however the house prices are okay.
Reading has a range of clubs and bars, there's also the uni which had the SU.
Microsoft sport and social events. Football, rugby etc.
