The Role
Overall, my professional enhancement year has been incredible. I have developed personally and professionally and I have gained a huge amount of professional experience. I also have a deeper understanding of my strengths, my weaknesses, what I like doing and what I don’t like doing. I am now much more skilled too, and having Microsoft on my CV is sure to help! Aside from al of the work, I have had so much fun too and have made some amazing friends. Finally, it has opened my eyes to other career paths I wouldn’t have considered before. I am very grateful to Microsoft for giving me the opportunity to have such an incredible year and I would fully recommend a year with Microsoft to every student out there. It’s an opportunity I’m very glad I took. In a year, I have gone from being a journalism student with some great work experience placements on my CV, to being an experienced professional who has successfully completed a full year working in a demanding role with real responsibilities for one of the biggest companies in the world. My internship has definitely made me a better journalist, a better professional all around and an even better student for when I return to university.
My manager and my team have supported me throughout my entire internship giving me great guidance and feedback to help me develop. This support has been really helpful and based on feedback I have received, I have really impressed everyone I have worked with.
