The Role
Very satisfied.
Very welcome and valuable.
Less so by my direct manager, however lots of support from colleagues.
Very busy. Work came in peaks and troughs of business.
A lot within my department. With two part time worker out of 4 at one point, there was a lot to pick up.
Lots of my skills are transferable and will have made me significantly more organised and employable than prior to my placement.
The Company
Across the internship, Microsoft is a great place to work. Very friendly and open. Work was serious when needs to be, but much more light hearted than most companies.
Very well organised as a program.
Somewhat. I was given the opportunity for Microsoft Office Specialist exams, however other than in-role experience, any other training was difficult to come by (not offered to me).
Flexi Time
International Travel
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Working from home
Very - no.1 company I want to return to (role dependent).
The Culture
Yes. With a large intern community there are plenty of people to get along with.
Reading is not cheap as it is outer London, more expensive than University, but by no means outrageous.
There was nightlife. By no comparison anywhere near as good as University, but there were various options.
Yes - Microsoft offers a lot with external stuff to get involved in as well as I did social stuff with my team fairly often.
