    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I enjoyed the entire experience massively.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • More than simply "An Intern", interns at Microsoft do real work, in real roles and make real impact in their teams and throughout the company. There was never any question from Day 1 that interns are valued as part of the teams that they have joined.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • The support given throughout the year has been superb. Throughout the year I have been able to ask and receive advice and guidance from a massive network of very talented and inspiring people. I have had great support not only for my day to day role but also looking forward to returning to university and my career after.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I was always busy with my role at Microsoft, not only this but with a range of stretch projects available and interesting teams to join, I've been given the opportunity to manage my own work load and had the option to manage my own workload.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Following on from previous answers I was given a massive amount of responsibility in my role. Relied on, valued and listened to as a core member of the team.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The range of skills that I have developed throughout the year will assist me throughout my final year in University, More than this, however, a massive number of the soft skills I have had the opportunity to develop will continue to help me throughout the rest of my career.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Working in one of the Microsoft Games Studios meant that I had an amazing office, with great facilities, a brilliant environment and most importantly absolutely amazing people.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The job that was done to on-board, welcome and support 100+ interns, in various roles throughout Microsoft UK was excellent, and a testament to the work put in by the University Staffing Team.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • With the opportunity and resources there to avail of free Microsoft certified exams I had the chance to gain a range of certifications that would cost a lot to obtain in any other circumstance. The fact that I didn't is more of a reflection on me than the opportunities available at Microsoft.

    4/5
