The Role
Deciding to do my internship at Microsoft is possibly the best decision I've ever made. I've learnt an incredible amount about Microsoft, sales, and most importantly about my self.
At Microsoft you are not treated as an intern, you are treated as a full time employee with real responsibilities. The exposure you are given is amazing, I go see customers by myself and own the relationship with some customers myself. Having the opportunity to do this only comes when your colleagues believe in your capabilities, so therefore I feel extremely valued by my team and the company.
The support you are given at Microsoft is like no other internship my friends are currently on. They push for us to spend 70% of our time doing our role/supporting your team and the other 30% exploring other interests and the rest of the company. For example, I'm part of the sales team and whilst this is my role, I've been working very closely with the Marketing team on the most exciting projects.
I'm usually very busy in my role. I'm never board, I'm always given exciting work and projects.
The responsibility I've been given has been incredible. I own relationships with customers and act as the face of Microsoft. My team fully trust me to present to their customers and lead customer meetings on their behalf. I've had the privilege of managing several programs that my team depend on.
My skills have improved vastly. I have confidence in speaking to people CXO level within a business.
The Company
Lively, excitable and very cool!
Very organised. There was always a plan for our training and there was always the option to write your own path.
I believe the amount of support I have received is amazing. I'm frequently put onto training course, and also given mentors from across the business to learn and get advice from.
