The Role
I enjoyed my time at Microsoft - mainly the variety of experiences I was offered, the work I was able to get involved in and the people that I met.
Because I had to move roles midway through my year, I had to go into a role that I maybe wasn't prepared for. For this reason I felt slightly behind compared to colleagues. However, after some time, when I had ramped up, I felt more part of the team, and the team seemed more friendly to me.
A good level. I was offered online training and materials, but for the more complex issues I was able to ask.
While ramping up, not very busy. As I became more profiecient I was trusted with more work.
Not very much. I would have liked to be given some more responsibility/tasks more suited to my original skillset.
The organisation and task prioritisation skills I learned here will be invaluable in future. The coding I learnt was unexpected, but also an amazing bonus!
The Company
Laid back and informal. Foosball every day!
Relatively well. I had to move from my role halfway through, and the move was not well organised.
A good amount. Given time to develop myself.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Financial Bonus
Working from home
Very appealing. Unlikely to get it though!
The Culture
Yes, top banter.
High, London drinking establishments are very pricey.
Company subsidised nights out!
There were opportunities for "extra curricular projects" and sports with other colleagues.
