The Role
My placement at Microsoft has been the most incredible experience, I have enjoyed every single minute!
Extremely valued, there is no sense of hierarchy and everyone is approachable.
My manager has been instrumental in my success at Microsoft, he has been so supportive on both a professional and a personal level. Reaching out to my wider team and the university staffing team I have been given support in abundance. There is no such thing as a 'silly question'
Very busy but this ensured I was motivated and challenged.
Throughout the placement I was given the same responsibility as a full-time employee in my team. This was incredibly valuable to me, I worked on 'real-life' projects and was given real targets to meet.
The skills that I have developed at Microsoft have been extensive, the most valuable are those that are transferable, such as presentational, organisational, rapport building and analytical.
The Company
The atmosphere within the office was amazing, particularly in my team, we had a real sense of community, the culture was incredible. We had a great deal of fun and I had more support than I could have ever needed.
The internship was incredibly well structured with a clear time line set out at the start of the year that was stuck to religiously. The placement was designed to make the most out of each and every individual undergoing a year at Microsoft. We were challenged, our skills were developed and we flourished.
There was training in abundance to help us with our personal development and career.

They are more than appealing - I have everything crossed that I will be coming back - I never want to leave!
The Culture
The social scene was fantastic, allowing you to get involved where you see fit. Great culture amongst the fellow interns. Within my team we had monthly social events that were a great deal of fun and kept up team morale.
Living and socialising in the area I worked in (Reading) are very reasonable no more than university accommodation or cost of living.
Great nightlife, a variety of bars, restaurants and nightclubs. Something for everyone :)
Absolutely! Ranging from Charity work, Sports clubs, External trips (such as Thorpe Park).
