The Role
I was presented with every opportunity I could want on an internship here at Microsoft. My role was fantastic, and everything I wanted from my year, giving me experience of a real role within the sales team, and the variety of stretch projects and the support I've had with that has been incredible.
I was a part of the team from day 1 and treated as a full time part of the team. I covered my colleagues when they were away, went on all the team building days and received the same level of training as any other member of the team, and for that they didn't see me as the intern, but a valued member of the team.
My manager has been amazing, giving me advice on everything from my role to my long term career aims. They have supported me to take on the full responsibility of any FTE here, and have supported me on every stretch project and volunteering ambition I've wanted to do unequivocally. They even came to watch me run the London Marathon!
I have been extremely busy but I have loved every minute of it, and have never felt like I couldn't ask for help if I was a bit overloaded.
I was given full responsibility over my own agency patch with another full time member of the team, and was client facing from day 1. I was held responsible to the business quota, forecasted revenue, pitched for that revenue, and covered the patch by myself without supervision when my superior on the account was away.
I feel as if I've developed many skills that will always be helpful, from direct sales to time and stress management, negotiating my way around a business of this scale, communication, confidence, and so many more.
The Company
I worked in (in my opinion) the most fun part of the business. There is a huge focus on loving what you do, and being happy to be here. It's always busy and upbeat, and hugely motivational.
The support network is huge, and there's so much set up for the interns when we get here. I never felt at a loose end, or like there was a gap in knowledge or support.
I was given the same level of training, and even more personal development opportunities, than all full time members of my team.

I would love to come back! And think I'm in a good place to.
The Culture
The social scene was brilliant, pretty much exactly like uni. My colleagues are great fun, and there was always almost too much going on with the interns!
The cost of living is high, but that's not a complete blocker- there are ways to get round it.
The nightlife was amazing. London is the best place in the country for the nightlife.
There are tons of societies and clubs to get involved in at Microsoft.
