The Role
I loved every aspect of my placement, from the job role, my team, the fellow interns, the office location, and the opportunities created through the job.
I feel like I've become a key member of the team I work in, while doing work that is beneficial to the "big picture".
My manager was very supportive, by scheduling weekly 1:1 sessions, and also by encouraging me to engage in extra activities that could sometimes result in me being out of the office.
There is always things to do: from daily/weekly activities to unique work for specific one off projects.
From the start, I was given work that helps the wider team, so responsibility was high from the beginning.
I've become a much more confident person in terms of meeting new people, and presenting work/myself effectively. I've also become more organised and disciplined on prioritising work.
The Company
Personally, the office had a very relaxed vibe to it, allowing you to get comfortable and be productive. The overall workplace was always positive due to the strong connection between the interns.
There are no complaints about the set up; the team were helpful and approachable from the start of the placement.
No major new skills from my team, but the company is good in that they promote taking the Microsoft Office exams.
Flexi Time
Working from home
Very appealing. Being an intern means an accelerated process for the graduate scheme, making it logical to reapply.
The Culture
The social scene between interns has been brilliant. It makes work more manageable on busy days. My team were also very sociable, allowing me to make friends as well as business contacts.
Expensive as the office is in London.
Being in Central London, nightlife is what you make of it. There are plenty of bars around the office in Victoria, but you can easily travel to other parts in the city.
Many, especially by getting involved with other teams.
