The Role
I loved it really. Was harder work than I imagined but I liked the diversity of the placement and how I was asked to do different tasks to avoid it becoming repetitious and menial.
A few people treat me as an inconveniance but overall everyone was sound and cool with me.
The scheme was in its beginning stages in Scotland so at times things seemed uneven and unplanned but overall I recieved good support and guidance. They are working on improving the scheme so it should be even better for new students.
I hate not doing anything or being static so I enjoyed being busy. Then again, it did sometimes feel like too much when it was 150% into everything.
The placement offered a whole world of responsibility such as delving into the most private infrastructures of the business and helping run a store successfully. It was full of responsibility.
I truly believe any experience is a good experience as long as you learn something from it and I learnt loads (probably more than in my whole degree) at Lidl.
The Company
The office was fun and a laugh but I would have like to have travelled more.
I always felt like they were only one step ahead of me as in they didn't really know what to do with me and so decided just before telling me. It wasn't like they had a plan drawn out.
I did ask about courses but I never heard anything back. They did put time and effort into training me for the job though which was valuable
Flexi Time
National Travel
Company Parties/Events
Above 25 days holiday
I was tempted to apply for their graduate scheme but I got a job elsewhere just before I actually got round to doing it.
The Culture
There were no other students in any stores near by me which was a mighty shame!
Lived with the parents so very cheap with a wage coming in.
I prefer the cinema or a restaurant but Glasgow has a lot of popualr bars and clubs for anyone who is into that.
The lads played five-a-side footy but there wasn't much for the gals.
