The Role
It was well structured, well paid and the work/social balance was good but the content of the work was not something I felt I really enjoyed.
Everyone was very friendly and pro active in making sure I was part of the team even for a very short period of time.
As I was working directly for my supervisor we sat next to one another so the support was unofficial but there on a daily basis.
There were days where I had to juggle a few things but on the whole I seemed to have the right amount of work allocated with potential to have done more if I had wanted to
Whilst my managers were away I was given the opportunity to represent in meetings and be a part of the conversation. Recording training and doing things that mattered to every day working life, I did, if the tasks were sometimes a bit banal.
In terms of a good name on a cv and experience in the corporate world, the internship was invaluable however specific skills or training were not really relevant to my degree which is in a creative field.
The Company
As it was summer, the office was a bit quiet but it had a nice feeling to it and everyone was smiley or chatting in the break areas
Very well, I couldn't really fault the organisation except I would have liked to find out about where my placement was sooner.
I think a lot of investment was done in terms of engagement and retention, the training in terms of socialising with other interns and staff was very good but actual development I think was down to the individual
Flexi Time
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Working from home
I think they sell themselves very well, the pay and job security you cannot fault. Having an offer of work before your final year of university is really comforting and makes you want to work there.
The Culture
Yes, it was a very social place to be with something happening almost every week.
Very expensive BUT the pay did balance this out. People who worked out of town definitely saved a lot of money compared with those working in london.
Lots of bars and restaurants but no clubs - as expected though.
Yes I knew of some sporting events through my company but I was also involved in other activities in London through my manager.
