The Role
The overall placement experience has been very enjoyable, providing insight into different areas of the business. The great thing about this placement scheme is that it allows you to map the direction of your year, giving you the opportunity to select which departments you want to progress in.
Every department I worked in whether it was Sales, Property, Administration or Stock Management, every colleague was appreciative of the work I completed.
Every placement student is assigned a Regional Training Manager who is there to help guide and support the placement student on their journey. Everyone within the different departments is always happy to answer questions and show you something if you are unsure.
Every day was busy! Theres lots to learn and never a dull moment!
Throughout my placement year I was given lots of responsibility which had direct impact on business activities. It has been fantastic experience which I will take with me going forward with my career!
The amount of skills I have developed this year is countless. I believe I have had first class training and a fantastic overview of how a food retailer works, and the knowledge I have gained will be hugely beneficial when returning to my degree.
The Company
The atmosphere in the office depends on what department your working in. But overall there is good atmosphere and people are friendly.
From start to finish you are always informed on what you'll be doing, where you'll be going and who you'll be with. The team who organise the placement scheme are fantastic and always there to offer help if you are unsure.
The firm invests greatly in their placement students and have a clear and organised structure throughout. People within the company always have a willingness to help you learn, and go that extra mile to help you fully understand!

The placement scheme offers attractive graduate schemes and plenty of opportunity to try new things.
The Culture
All placement students join together at several points throughout the year, where they have the opportunity to share experiences. All students get to spend two weeks at head office - lots of chances to go out there!
I lived at home for the year so managed to save a bit of money!
When spending time at head office theres lots of places to go out as its in London!
I didn't get involved in any activities outside of work
