The Role
I enjoyed my placement a lot. I gained great insight into how an organization works and I build relationships and contacts which could be very valuable for my career going forward.
When working with colleagues and completing tasks as a team I did feel valued as gratitude was given when I did a job well.
Working in Finance, you can't expect to have someone sit with you for a long time as it's very busy. However when I had any questions I always asked and received answers.
I was given plenty of work to do as well as one off projects so that I could experience other tasks outside of the set weekly/monthly ones, so I was always busy.
I was given responsibility for my own projects and I was always expected to meet the deadlines.
Working for such a prestigious company has helped me to have a great work ethic; especially working in Finance as you can one minute have not so much work, and the next you have so much work. That experience will definitely help me in my final year, and if I work in a multinational organization again I will definitely use key personal and technical skills which I've learnt here.
The Company
The atmosphere in the office was friendly, and there were always times where you could laugh with colleagues.
I was given weekly and monthly tasks which over time I understood more and more. I believe the internship was organized well and I was utilized in a good way.
I was fortunate enough to be on the Siemens Intern Development Program. This is a year long scheme targeted at students in their penultimate year who carry out a placement as part of their degree. I enjoyed this program a lot as I met other interns from around the country, developed and improved my team problem solving techniques as well as my leadership skills.

There are many opportunities within Siemens in all sorts of different areas, so I would say the future employment prospects would be appealing to most people.
The Culture
A lot of the interns go to the local university (Lincoln Uni), so they know the area and the good places to eat or visit. I think the social scene is great and really helped create a happy working atmosphere.

Lincoln is a great place for socializing and there is plenty to do here, from the cathedral to sports facilities, places to eat.
