About You
The work I was given was very varied and interesting - I had legal and commercial research, proofing and compiling tasks.
I was given useful work to do which assisted the lawyers' cases. We also got to meet many members of the team in talks and presentations - and they seemed happy to give up their time to speak to us.
The HR team were always on hand to give advice and the lawyers I worked for took the time to explain things to me and provide feedback.
The experience has proved that I want to become a lawyer and so the information I got at the firm was a useful way to confirm my decision.
The Company
The structure of the scheme cannot be faulted. There was enough desk-time but also law presentations from the various practice groups, as well as social gatherings.
There is a friendly atmosphere at the firm and people are clearly allowed to be themselves and let their characters show!
They gave us lots of training and presentations which allowed us to learn a lot about the firm and the law.
It was very useful being at the firm and made me realise that I do want to work here.
Being at the firm for two weeks was vital in order to understand the ethos at the firm.
It was vital for me to come to the firm since I am from a non-law, already-working background.
Everything Else
The reimbursement was generous.
Yes. There were lunches and drinks scattered throughout the two weeks.
Great - we got to meet the trainees a number of times.
Yes - there are many activities - choir, sports teams, yoga, CSR...
Absolutely - Stephenson Harwood is a very friendly but ambitious firm.
