The Role
I really enjoyed my placement at SAP as I got to work with so many people from different parts of the business. There was also a very large intern community which helped especially when we first started.
My work was highly valued as I was doing the same job as my senior colleagues and there were tasks that I only knew how to do, So before I would go on holidays I would have to teach it to one of my colleagues as they could not going without the reports I produced.
I was given a buddy (mentor) at the beginning of my placement that would be there to help me achieve what I wanted to achieve out of my placement. We would have regular meetings to assess my progress and discuss any issues I was having.
I was always busy as there would be always something that I could be doing whether it was role or university related.
I was given alot of responisibility as I was doing tasks that were the same as my senior colleagues. Some reports that I would produce would be used in senior gobal meetings.
The training I received was very role specific so I dont think that will help me with my degree studies however I did devlop valuable transferable skills that will help me both with my degree and beyond.
The Company
Quarter end would always be a tense time in the office but during the other periods it is quite a quiet place to work in and everyone is consistently busy.
I feel that it was very well organised especially since it was organised by interns. Although I do feel that we should have had quarterly meetings with HR so that if we felt as a community that something needed to be improved on , that it would actually happen.
We all had to complete mandatory training at the beginning of the year and whenever there was a change in the company there would be comference calls so we are all aware of the changes, But the business did not monitor our development.

The Culture
Yes , every Thursdays without fail drinks in Richmond.
The cost of socialising were not bad, Quiet good considering its London.
There is nothing to do in Feltham ! Most of the time we would travel to Richmond or Central London
You need to come up with your own opportunities there is not many currently.
