The Role
Looked forward to coming into work, I learned a lot in my 4 weeks here, and would recommened anyone interested in going into property to apply to Savills summer scheme.
The team were very helpful and approachable. They were keen to give me tasks that would develop my understanding of the industry and company. I was giving a few roles in particular that were useful to colleaugues, and they were greatful when they were completed by me.
I was given a great deal of support and guidance by team, although there did not seem to be one manager/supervisor inparticular to report to, it was fine as the whole team were approachable and useful.
some days were most definitely quieter than others. Some days would have lots on, site visits and report write ups, others I had less to do, but that is to be expected. They tried to find me things to do whenever I had a quiet day.
I was given tasks, that had to be done by a certain time, to get paperwork sent off to clients, so in that respect I was given quite a bit, however, help was there if i needed it.
My time here helped me to understand which course to undertake after my degree, and I believe the skills I learnt will help me in the future, and on my CV of course!
The Company
Great atmosphere, some days were quieter than others, but that is to be expected. Good balance of social and work
On my first day it was unclear who my go to contact was, however I soon felt settled in so this didn't really matter. The Savills HR team were really useful in organising forms and information both during and before the placement.
I feel like I gained a lot. Even just formal interaction with clients, something I hadnt had much experience of before, and will be useful in any industry.
I will definitely be applying in the near future
The Culture
Yes! I took part in Dragon Boat racing one friday, and a bus tour on another. Alongside meals and drinks out.
I stayed at home, so cheap. But Cambridge isn't cheap on the whole iI guess
Cambridge has good bars and pubs, but not clubs.
Yes!
