The Role
I found my work placement very interesting and beneficial. It was a completely enjoyable process.
Everyone in the team was very welcoming and gave me actual tasks to complete which went towards the projects which were being undertaken.
The amount of support and guidance given was good. Not only in regards to the work I was undertaking, but also in terms of becoming a future employee and even giving me advice about dissertation writing.
I was pretty busy most days, with site visits happening on 4 of 5 days in one week.
I was given a small amount of responsibility but due to the short duration of the placement (1 month) there are few projects that I could take responsibility for.
I feel that the placement was useful, it has helped me build on my Uni studies and will help with the application process for graduate positions.
The Company
The office atmosphere was good. Everyone in my department were friendly and made me feel very welcome. The rest of the office were welcoming too and the general atmosphere was good.
I feel that the work placement was well organised, with HR taking control of the application process and monitoring throughout the duration of the placement.
Due to the short period of the placement, training and development wasn't really applicable. However, the whole placement is an investment into improving my skills.
Company Parties/Events
Future career prospects are good, and information has been provided to assist with this process.
The Culture
There were a number of events between the colleagues. This included drinks after work, team lunches and networking events.
N/A
N/A
There are several sporting activities and competitions which are available to staff. However there were not really applicable to someone on a 1 month placement.
