The Role
Working at Savills was a fantastic experience and thoroughly enjoyable due to the friendly and supportive people based in the Manchester office. This was an absolutely fantastic experience and I would recommend this to any determined and aspirational individuals.
I was provided with assistance and mentorship from day one at Savills through one to one appraisals and general support when assisting with client projects,
I was provided with full support and assistance with any issues I had during my time at Savills.
I was provided with a schedule for most of my days and also provided with additional work that I could be doing when I was not working on a core task.
The blend of experiences provided me with situations where I had to use my own initiative (i.e. measuring a office), and times where I had to take a step back and learn from the professionals (i.e. sitting in on client meetings). Overall the balance of responsibility was very well measured.
The training I received will certainly help me beyond my degree in securing a graduate job.
The Company
The atmosphere was generally friendly but colleagues were also professional when they needed to focus on their projects,
Very well organised in my first week, however towards the end of the internship the organisation did tail off to some extent,
I was able to attend CPD sessions to build up and prepare of my APC
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Very appealing, Savills is a company which prides themselves on being the 'best', with a wealth of progression and global opportunities.
The Culture
Social scene was ok, nothing too spectacular.
Cost of living was very reasonable as I live in the area, a variety of local cafe's, bar's and restaurant provide affordable daily food as well as nice meals when you have the time to enjoy your food!
I experienced to 'nightlife' during my placement,
Yes, there was 5-a-side football and the odd dinner after work.
