The Role
Was a great experience, I learnt so many new things and how to really apply my university degree - I also got a great understanding on how a huge successful organisation is run and stays successful in challenging economic times - These experiences couldnt have been learnt from a book
I work in a great team with perminant employees - They treat me as one of the team and I never feel singled out/less valuable etc. I also work with many other IP students so its a good atmosphere
I knew I could always look for guidence via my manager be
This varied day to day as I was doing a host of differnt work - some days I had lots of tasks to complete other days I was more relaxed - But it was never overwhelming
Got assigned the duties of single handedly managing all of the organisations databases in a specific software environment and also had many other important duties
the experiences I gained and skills I developed really couldnt have been learnt from any book/degree. The 'hands-on' experiences really have taught me so much and to fully appreciate the extent that ICT and Business really is 'Married' together. I feel that I can now truly apply my knowledge I have gained from Uni
The Company
Great! always friendly & comfortable! for such a big company there was a distinct 'laid-back' feel which was a joy to work in.
was organised great - the year flowed in a good fashion - with more responsabilities being added all the while I displayed the ability to cope with them
Lots of training was given by GSK, also great days out. experience days etc - Overall GSK invested greatly in me
Flexi Time
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Above 25 days holiday
Working from home
I would like to come back to GSK once I finish my degree
The Culture
there were a huge amount of IP students in my building, working in the same/similar departments (30+) so the social scene was great! It was like still being at uni...... but having money! :D
Lived outside of Brentford
Brentford isnt the best social scene around - theres a few expensive pubs etc - but its one tube from central London which is great but expensive
Gym, Football club
