The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement mainly due to the helpful colleagues that I worked with and the valuable skills I gained from it.
It varied from client to client, but i generally felt part of most of my teams and felt like my contributions were valued.
My supervisors were very supportive and always gave me guidance whenever I was unsure.
This varied from client to client, but i was generally very busy as it was during the busy period of the year.
The skills i developed whilst on placement helped me understand a lot of the things i had learnt on my degree and their practicality. Also i was able to grasp certain concepts after the placement that I didn't get before as i had seen it in practise during my placement.
The Company
The atmosphere generally buzzing despite it being a very busy period.
At first, it seemed quite unorganised as i was not made aware of where i'd be working, who i was to report to right at the start, and the tasks/plan for my first week kept being changed. However after my first week, everything was smooth and very well organised.
A lot was invested in training and development but it was up to me to make use of what was there to enhance my development.
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
Future employment prospects with EY are very appealing.
The Culture
Fellow placement students were very nice, however there wasn't much chance to socialise due to the period being very busy.
As i was living near the centre of the city it was quite expensive, however nothing extortionate.
Great nightlife in a buzzing city.
There was a lot of opportunities to get involved in different activities at all times.
