The Role
It was a well supported role with lots of responsibility & got quite lucky with a very busy year for my team.
Always willing to help - cannot fault my immediate team, so welcoming.
My manager supported me in every aspect possible
Often had busy periods, but a standard day had enough to keep you busy
In charge of various different budgets & given freedom to lead projects required for our team - I feel this is more so based on my team and not reflective of all on the scheme.
Helped hugely in allowing me to experience the corporate world.
The Company
The general office was quiet, and quite often it seemed if you spoke in our area people would give you dirty looks, so not ideal. However when it was a bit busier it was a good atmosphere & working within a team of other placement students made it good fun!
I find foundation who look out for placement students to be slightly disorganised at time, however again in relation to my actual team they were well set up and helpful.
Many different events to try & help e.g. CV sessions etc. However I would not say these were useful due to the fact that they were basically stuff covered in first year of uni study so did not add any value.

Still have to apply for the graduate scheme, the process could be explained so much better and not saved until the last minute.
The Culture
There was a good social scene, despite not everyone getting on there was always someone you could get on with/do something.
Having never lived in the South I found it expensive in terms of nights out etc, however the general cost was quite low, I presume because Portsmouth is not the nicest of cities......
Couple of decent places, but not a lot of choice & alot of places were very similar and it lacked variation, the prices were also a bit high.
Not directly with the company no, however on your own merit yes just like anywhere
