The Role
I have thoroughly enjoyed my internship at Enterprise Rent-a-Car, it has been a great opportunity for me to develop my skills and enhance my employability after my degree studies.
I felt very valued by everyone, mostly likely because everyone at Enterprise has been in my position, therefore they are always happy to help and answer any of my questions.
Throughout my internship my managers and colleagues have supported me through every aspect of the work. This includes supporting me and helping me work through my summer internship training file.
The branch which I work in is always busy with both retail and corporate hire bookings. However Mondays and Tuesdays seem to be the busiest, with most of our customers returning their car after the weekend.
During my placement I believe I was given considerable responsibility, however not too much to make me feel out of my depth. This included being assigned jobs to do such as ringing customers before their reservation to confirm bookings and remind the customer of what documents they need to bring.
All of the skills I have developed at Enterprise during my internship will greatly assist me during my studies. More importantly the training and skill development that Enterprise have provided will greatly improve my employability in the future.
The Company
The atmosphere in the office was always great, everyone was always enthusiastic with a positive, yes mentality to get work done.
The whole process of the internship was extremely organized. Firstly, the recruitment process for the internship was very organized and included three different stages - telephone interview, head office interview and branch visit. Furthermore, on the first day I was given my training file which gave me different tasks to complete by set dates for my stage one development.
Enterprise invested in my as an intern by providing me with all the necessary equipment for my personal training and development. This included providing me with my summer internship training file which I have to work through over the ten week course. Also I could say Enterprise was great in providing me with sales experience, which is something I am keen to develop and have not previously had the chance.
Enterprise offers a range of future employment prospects, including the Management Trainee programme which is something I would greatly be interested in after university.
The Culture
Yes there was a good social scene amongst all my colleagues, including regular staff meals and nights out.
The internship was based in my home town, therefore the cost of living and socializing was average for me.
The internship was based in my home town, therefore the nightlife was the same for me.
The enterprise team regularly arranged social gatherings.
