The Role
I have absolutely loved every minute of it. It has been tough but rewarding in the knowledge I have learnt and the people I have met. It will certainly stand me in good stead for my last year of university.
Very much, they were always looking out for me and helping me with things I didn't understand and answering all my questions.
I think it was the perfect balance, I was given jobs to do, shown how to do them and they left on my own to go and do them until I got stuck and needed guidance, in which case they were there to point me in the right direction.
Busier than I thought I would be!!
A lot more than I thought I would, including writing a full valuation report, pricing up a development of houses and writing a pitch for a client.
I think more than I realise at the moment especially in valuation but I feel this internship will assist me more when I come to work for a company such as Savills especially in dealing with client, doing comparables properly and general knowledge of the property industry.
The Company
Fun, vibrant and easy to work within
There was no real structure as such like having a timetable but I was given any and all jobs that were going on at the time including going on what ever visit happened to be going out. There were a few things such as a directors lunch and meeting with thr HR manager in London which were programmed as well as a maths and English test.
Not a lot as I was only there for a month but I did learn how to use certain bits of software.
Very, I would very much like to work for Savills.
The Culture
Yes, we went out for lunch and drinks regularly and had socials after work with other offices. We even went Dragon Boat racing on day against other property firms.
I was very lucky as I could stay in my university house but Oxford is relatively expensive to live and drink out.
Good but I didn't go out as I was so exhausted from work each day.
Yup, we went Dragon Boat racing and had socials with other offices.
