The Role
Really enjoyed the internship. Was offered plenty of oppertunities to develop skills within the buisness and was able to experience so much within my industry, from site visits to training days.
Was treated like a real member of staff. Was occasionally given a 'student' job however for the most part I tackled real challenges and was kindly rewarded by line managers for this hard work.
Allocated my own line manager. Plenty of support offered on projects and for personal development.
Depended on the week. Some weeks was working overtime, others barely meeting the required hours.
Many projects were left to me to run. I was fortunate based on the number of projects available which allowed me to take control of a number of my own projects.
Training offered throughout the year which was fantastic. Completed HACCP Level 3 among other certifications.
The Company
Average age of the office was around 30, very up beat and good fun especially with hot desking.
Very well organised, from start to finish. Structure and support provided and hand over with old/new students allowed for an easy transition.
Heavily invested in my personal development. Completed numerous training courses and paid for me to go on numerous site visits, one of which was abroad.

Rather appealing at entry level.
The Culture
All the interns got together on a monthly basis for a different activity. Close relationship with the other interns in my departments and colleagues felt like friends - occasionally going out together as a team or organising activities.
Very expensive, London prices. Rent accounted for almost half my wage and socialising was not cheap.
Very good. London was a short train away.
Plenty of oppertunity to go to events with your department or the company as a whole.
