    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Really enjoyed the internship. Was offered plenty of oppertunities to develop skills within the buisness and was able to experience so much within my industry, from site visits to training days.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Was treated like a real member of staff. Was occasionally given a 'student' job however for the most part I tackled real challenges and was kindly rewarded by line managers for this hard work.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Allocated my own line manager. Plenty of support offered on projects and for personal development.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Depended on the week. Some weeks was working overtime, others barely meeting the required hours.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Many projects were left to me to run. I was fortunate based on the number of projects available which allowed me to take control of a number of my own projects.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Training offered throughout the year which was fantastic. Completed HACCP Level 3 among other certifications.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Average age of the office was around 30, very up beat and good fun especially with hot desking.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Very well organised, from start to finish. Structure and support provided and hand over with old/new students allowed for an easy transition.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Heavily invested in my personal development. Completed numerous training courses and paid for me to go on numerous site visits, one of which was abroad.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • All the interns got together on a monthly basis for a different activity. Close relationship with the other interns in my departments and colleagues felt like friends - occasionally going out together as a team or organising activities.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Very expensive, London prices. Rent accounted for almost half my wage and socialising was not cheap.

  • Very good. London was a short train away.

    5/5
