The Role
I've loved working at HP.
Everyone was really friendly and welcoming from day 1.
Always giving thorough training on every task.
I had daily tasks that I had to do as well as different tasks that other groups and teams would maybe need help with which kept me busy. It is a fast paced working environment.
I had a buyers role and was responsible for a list of parts all under my name. I was responsible for any shortages/late deliveries which is a lot of responsibility for a student intern in my department.
I feel that my year in industry has given me valuable experience which I can use going back into to university. I have learned so many new things and am still learning even though I am nearly finished.
The Company
Everyone in the office gets along with each other. They promote an open door policy at HP so every feels welcomed and at ease.
I had my job role set from day 1.
I have been given many training opportunities including my white belt in Lean Six Sigma training and also more recently Project Management(CAPM) training for my exam certification. I have always been encouraged by management to take every training opportunity I am offered while I am here.
Flexi Time
Subsidised/Company Gym
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Above 25 days holiday
Working from home
I would be happy to return to work for HP.
The Culture
There are a few interns based at HP and we all knew each other from university. We've had a few nights out now together along with the staff in our office which have always been good.
I lived at home throughout my placement so the cost of living wasn't higher or lower than what I am used to.
There's nothing around the HP campus, we always have our nights out in Glasgow City Centre where the nightlife is always busy and there are so many great places to go.
As far as I am aware I never really took part in anything outside of work. I know that there are a few different sports club on the site but I didn't take part in these.
