  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I had daily tasks that I had to do as well as different tasks that other groups and teams would maybe need help with which kept me busy. It is a fast paced working environment.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I had a buyers role and was responsible for a list of parts all under my name. I was responsible for any shortages/late deliveries which is a lot of responsibility for a student intern in my department.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I feel that my year in industry has given me valuable experience which I can use going back into to university. I have learned so many new things and am still learning even though I am nearly finished.

  • I have been given many training opportunities including my white belt in Lean Six Sigma training and also more recently Project Management(CAPM) training for my exam certification. I have always been encouraged by management to take every training opportunity I am offered while I am here.

  • I would be happy to return to work for HP.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There are a few interns based at HP and we all knew each other from university. We've had a few nights out now together along with the staff in our office which have always been good.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I lived at home throughout my placement so the cost of living wasn't higher or lower than what I am used to.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • There's nothing around the HP campus, we always have our nights out in Glasgow City Centre where the nightlife is always busy and there are so many great places to go.

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • As far as I am aware I never really took part in anything outside of work. I know that there are a few different sports club on the site but I didn't take part in these.
