About You
Large variety of work given. Was given a large degree of responsibility, often times almost equivalent to that of a trainee.
Partners, Associates and Trainees alike continuously expressed gratitude and appreciation for the effort and work you had put into various projects.
Fair degree. Trainee buddy was a lot more helpful than the associate supervisor however. Senior Associates often took time out of the day to explain various parts of a deal.
It will definitely help in our vacation schemes as well as when I begin my Training Contract.
The Company
It all seemed very well organised, though occasionally did rely heavily on members of the seat you are placed in, to give you work to do (ie. keep you busy). When this did happen the scheme however was effectively seamless.
A really collegiate and friendly firm. Everyone tries to introduced themselves (mostly) and help you with any general or specific questions you may have. Absolutely amazing trainees!
Got a lot of training from trainees and associates alike. A lot of time was spent on me. Presentations on every practice area were also helpful.
It was useful in that I was shown what my trainee buddy was doing and equally could do some of that work myself.
It was very helpful. Doubt however does remain regarding how much the culture will change after the office move to Cannon Place. This is one real concern as the scheme did not take place in the same (open-plan) setting as the future (potential) training contract will.
Was valuable.
Everything Else
No comment.
Social events always included a diverse range of people from the firm itself. Always included trainee which seem like the most approachable bunch of people at the firm either way.
Special shout-out to the cocktail making evening which was absolutely great!
Sports & diversity groups were really the only thing, or so it seemed.
I would advise anyone who wishes to work for CMS as a trainee solicitor to take part in a vacation scheme first.
