About You
There was always something to do after the close of the business day. Whether that was going for drinks, playing sport or even karoke, Additionally, the work was stimulating - many role playing scenes and interactive presentations, which attempted to capture the real workings of each practice area at the firm.
I was drafted in to fill out share certificates and s431 forms - important documents, as such, the level of responsibility I was given made me feel as though I were a valued member,
Support was fantastic. I had supervisors and trainee buddies who answered every question I had in mind. Furthermore, I felt comfortable enough to ask the graduate recruitment partners similar questions, which is indicative of the openness of the firm.
Very informative scheme. There were focus sessions on every practice area, which helped complement the exisiting seats I had chosen. Ultimately, this alleviated the fears I initially had - that my exposure would be limited to the seats I picked. Moreover, I was drafted in to help with current deals - e.g. I went through a loan facility agreement and highlighted the financial bounds that could be increased or reduced in order to favour the client. The skills I acquired will definitely bode well for a career in commercial law.
The Company
The timetable devised by HR was fantastic. Things ran as smoothly as a well oiled German car!
Everyone at the firm, regardless of their capacity were super friendly and willing to give invaluable advice.
The firm has invested a lot in me. All the resources I was provided with and the remuneration. Aside from the materiality, emotionally, the firm really cares about the development of myself as a future solicitor and person.
The departments I sat in tend to have longer hours.
There were many social affairs in the evenings which encapsulated the business model of the firm - the firm's values are littered in everything it does.
Very valuable - seminars, networking sessions and informal gatherings complemented to challenging work.
Everything Else
Pay is lower than some other firms.
So many opportunities. The HR team had done a fantastic job in order integrate the vac schemers with the entire firm!
Excuse my language but they were extremely chilled - no pressure to make an impression. It was just a simple conversation about TW and the developments in the market!
Football, touch rugby, marathons and yoga.
Insight, as a whole, has combined the right balance of social affairs and legal (and commercial) work experience - as such, this would be a brilliant firm to train at.
