The Role
Was a fantastic opportunity to work for such an established English brand, its the only job I've had where I actually looked forward to going to.
Colleagues were welcoming from day one and didn't make me feel like a new starter.
Whenever I needed help everyone in the department would welcome questions for support. In terms of my progression in the role, the guidance was great to continuously encourage me to improve and become a better member of the team.
There was a good balance and was never made to feel over worked to the extent of stress, however, I was busy enough to always be doing something and not become bored.
I was set my own projects such as improving the recruitment process to make it more efficient for the department and for applicants.
My organisation skills have definitely improved which is highly important for the final year of my degree to manage my time and ensure I can balance my work-social life. I have also become a more confident person which will be important when taking part in group work and giving presentations to an audience. Not only would it help me in my final year it has given me more of an insight in to the career path I want to take and to some of the situations and experiences I will have to deal with.
The Company
It was fun but to the extent where we were still productive.
Was very well planned out with inductions and training, helped me learn quickly and more able to do the job.
Regular one to one's were very helpful and abled me to improve some of weaknesses.
Subsidised Canteen
Good!
The Culture
Yes, made friends with other placement students are were able to socialise out of work hours.
The cost of living was fine, it wasn't expensive at all!
With Birmingham, Leicester, and Coventry close by you could opt for a City night out - also with Hinckley, Nuneaton, and Tamworth nearby you could have a cheaper but still a good night out.
There are loads of sports teams around the area that you can join or watch and join new sports (such as being half hour away from Tamworths SnowDome where you can learn to Skii and Snowboard). There are also plenty of gyms around the area where you can work out.
