    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I really enjoyed working at PwC, the internship was well set-up with plenty of work but also a lot of time to explore the different aspects of the company. It was also (in my experience at least) not too demanding in terms of the time that I was required to work.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I felt that I engaged very well with the team and helped them with various tasks that were quite interesting. However, I didn't have a lot of tax experience so wasn't given a huge amount of responsibility, as expected.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My councillor, was extremely helpful throughout the internship and assisted me with my general queries and problems with a lot of enthusiasm. She also gave me valuable advice on how to receive an offer at the end of the internship.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • There were periods of time when I was extremely busy and had an active role helping the team with certain projects such as tax audits. Occasionally there were times that I was only doing jobs such as scanning and printing, but they were often a needed break.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • There was a lively dynamic in the office, accompanied with a very friendly and hard-working atmosphere. The managers often brought in cakes and biscuits for everyone to enjoy when they needed a break.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • We had specific goals to complete during the course.of the internship and our councillors and 'buddies' helped us attain these goals.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • We were given three days of introductory meetings at the start of the internship. Here we developed and attained valuable communication and managerial skills, in addition to gaining awareness of different personalities during team based activities.
