The Role
Always had something to attend, while constantly learning about several businesses and industries
The people really make Deloitte, very welcoming and always trying to help you with any queries you have. The shadow days are the best part, where I got to meet a the CEO and Chairman of a big firm while shadowing a Deloitte partner.
There are always opportunities to ask questions or find out more about a particular topic, even senior managers find some time to sit down with you over a coffee to discuss anything you feel you don't understand
Though the meetings, talks and shadowing placements within the firm gave a good insight, in terms of physical work not much was given. I was mostly told to research or to read up, and not given actual work to do
As said above, there were hardly any opportunities to do work that actually impacts a project
I got to learn a lot about several divisions and exactly what they do, the managers sent me work they are doing and I saw a project from start to finish making me understand the process much better even though I did not contribute much.
