The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed working for lubrizol. They looked after me, gave me extras and it gave me an insight into what working for a global company would be like.
They welcomed me, were always willing to help and made me feeel appreciated.
At the start of the placement they asked me what i wanted to get out of the year. They then did there best to make sure i achieved those goals.
Some days were busier than others. However it would all depend on the size of the tasks given to you.
I was responsible for producing customer content, promotional content and also presentations which were being shown all around the world.
I have learnt a variety of skills whilst working at Lubrizol; IT skills Organisation Time management Etc. However the two main ones I belive will help me out during my final year are confidence and communication skills. These have been boosted massively at Lubrizol.
The Company
I have had an office to myself throughout placement, with my name on the door. Whilst that does make you feel appreciated, it can be slightly boring and when you neeed help it can be tougher to communicatewith people.
I have worked with all departments since the start and all have made sure im well looked after and am kept sufficiently busy.
Loads of courses were offered up to me from the beginning. Collegues would take the time out to teach me skills I needed to learn.

Very! Brilliant company to work for, I was well looked after and appreciated for the work I did.
The Culture
There are roughly 20 students all in the same boat as you at Lubrizol. I have made some great friends and we often socialise outside of work.
Relitively cheap, same as most places.
Derby isnt great for a night out, the bars arent too bad. However, Nottingham is a bus journey away and has a very good nightlife.
Yes with the sports and social club. They had all different sports and activities going on.
