The Role
I absolutely loved my placement year.
I worked in a very small team so always felt valued and supported by my colleagues, as well as the wider business.
Being in a small team I worked very closely with my line manager, often shadowing her role and simultaneously working on projects together.
On average my days were quite busy,
A lot of responsibility. I covered a managerial position for 3 weeks, had sole responsibility for some reporting and was often involved in projects outside of my daily role, spanning across various business functions.
Being able to combine real life experience with theory will ultimately give me a deeper understanding of PR strategy going forward in my studies and career.
The Company
The newly refurbished office is open, vibrant and aids collaborative working.
A full handover was prepared, as well as all necessary equipment and a plan for onboarding.
I was able to get involved in many different projects, which deepened my knowledge of other business areas. Regular reviews were set up to aid my development. I didn't take part in any formal training but it was on offer.

This depends on your business function. There isn't a concrete graduate scheme set up yet.
The Culture
There was a large intern community with regular socials. The company also has regular socials.
London being London is going to be expensive. The wage helps to offset this.
There is never a lack of pubs, clubs or bars to visit in London,
Lots of opportunity. There were regular socials, volunteering opportunities and team building exercises.
