About You
Enjoyed it so much - people on my intake and indeed staff were extremely friendly and welcoming and I could genuinely see myself working amongst them. There were some really well organised social events and also more business focussed networking and evening events.
Definitely felt valued and that I was (though temporarily) part of the firm - had some great responsibilities that were undeniably important tasks in their own way. However, occasionally felt that people didn't really want me bothering them, and was occasionally worried about asking questions for fear of irritating them. Though this was more anomaly than general.
Received a good level of guidance from my supervisor who I really enjoyed working with. She definitely supported me in that she was aware of my capabilities as a non-law graduate and made sure that I was getting accordingly appropriate work.
This will help me in the future as I have a far better, though broad, understanding of what one does day to day working for this company. I think that for the stage tat I'm at in my qualification process, I have certainly done some valuable work and learned some valuable skills.
The Company
Really well structured ! from the outset we were given a schedule for the 3 weeks that was not contravened at any point.
Very good fun, would recommend to anyone looking to do city law. Only small drawback is that I think some people felt lonely in their respective departments.
I think that they definitely gave us all the training we could feasibly have in three weeks considering it was in addition to our departmental day to day work.
Feel that it was all very transparent - some days I was working the same hours as full time employees, who did not deny the hours/ type of work that they had to do. I think that I have a good idea of what is potentially to come and have learned a lot.
Company culture came through strongly in everything we did; from working with people to having a few drinks with them. And it was consistent throughout.
Really helpful in the sense that I now understand the types of work done and hours clocked, but since I was only sat in one department I don't think I saw as much as I'd like to.
Everything Else
Slightly low considering that I was incurring fairly heavy travelling expenses.
Really good - there was a lot organised and I even got to meet some interns from the firm's clients !
Great - really well organised and the staff were clearly happy to be there.
A little bit, but occasionally had to turn this kind of stuff down for other work obligations.
