The Role
Greatly enjoyed the year; gained a very useful and detailed insight into the industry, as well as in my particular commercial role.
Very valued and treated as an everyday employee by all colleagues.
Management of all levels were helpful, ranging from immediate manager, to the head of the business unit.
Always busy, challenging projects and a lot to juggle at times. Other times are less busy and leave you more time to get on with smaller tasks. Always help available from manager/colleagues if you have too much on at once.
Worked in projects across Europe, travelled very often, and worked with key opinion leaders during meetings and projects. Excellent exposure to the autonomy and leadership side of the role.
Helped with aspects such as punctuality, drive and motivation etc. Less so with theatrical aspects of business.
The Company
Positive people, all wiling to have fun and get involved in activities; however with a serious work ethic generally.
Well organised, scope to get involved in different projects, shadow other areas of the business, and also to complete a range of training, such as brand training and compliance.
The company invested a lot in myself as an individual, in terms of time and money. A lot of time spent on training and getting to know the environment and market. Perks included such as a laptop, mobile, expenses for work related travel etc.

Some placement students do find jobs out of university here, however it tends to be department dependant, due to demand and expansion etc.
The Culture
Good network of fellow students, all living locally within Surrey. Good amount of things to do in the surrounding areas.
Cost wasn't too bad, as it was split between multiple students living together, all working at Pfizer. Cost of living is higher than usual, but more than manageable with the salary provided.
Some nightlife in Surrey which was good, very easy transport links to London on weekdays and weekends, so nightlife is always accessible.
Had work dinners and drinks occasionally, meetings outside of the office, as well as international travel. Provided with a great leaving party in London.
