    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I enjoyed the internship. The employees made me feel welcome, the work was interesting and the programme was of a good length to get a valuable experience.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Everyone at the company made me feel welcome. I was invivted to events, included in office activities and generally involved.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My people manager and buddy were available to help me whenever they were in the office and alternative contacts were provided when they were away. Everyone was happy to help and support and there was no such thing as a "bad question."

    3/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Initially work was a bit sparse but once I was settled in at the office there was enough work to keep me occupied but not overloaded.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • The responsibility is the same as that given to the graduates - you are involved in work for clients and develop and understanding of the reasons for the work.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • There are many graduate training sessions on offer for the current employees and attendance at these is encouraged for the experience. This will help if you choose to stay in the service line.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The office atmosphere was friendly and relaxed.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The internship was very organised. My buddy contacted me over a month before the placement began and all the interns had IT accounts set up a month before joining to ease the joining process. The employees were aware of the internship intake and had work to delegate.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The firm took us on a 3 day off-site induction training for the first three days of the programme, we then had 2 more days of office based training before 5 more weeks of the internship itself. There were training programmes already in place for the current employees that the interns could attend for a broader experience.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • 3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • The future employment prospects are very appealing with a large group of current employees having gone through the programme themselves. Current staff seem to enjoy working at PwC and make it a pleasant place to work.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • The fellow interns were very sociable and we regularly met up to discuss the internship/have a few drinks.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I lived at home and got the bus in everyday. Living in the city centre could be expensive but the bus routes in Manchester make living further out realistic.

    5/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Manchester has a very good nightlight.

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Outside work socials are common as is lunch at a restaurant.
