The Role
The placement was throughly enjoyable and rewarding and allowed me to work in different areas of the company.
I assisted a variety of colleagues in their work and felt valued. As the placement progressed I was given more challenging work and more responsibility.
I had weekly meeting with my supervisor and worked daily with my 'buddy' who both offered support in the day-to-day work and helped me meet my objectives.
Work varied day to day as I was given work as it came and was not working on a larger project. This gave me the ability to work on many different projects and clients although sometimes I was sort for work.
The responsibility increased throughout the placement once my colleagues had seen that I could work efficiently and produce work of a high quality.
The general skills I developed such as communication and professionalism will come in useful in the future as I hope to pursue as career in this area. The placement was not related to my degree however but will be useful once I have graduated.
The Company
The atmosphere was relaxed but professional, people chatted while they worked and the 'dress down friday' was a nice touch.
The placement was very well organised. The residential part of the internship went very smoothly and the local induction and I.T training was well organised and executed.
I felt the company invested heavily in the interns. With a 3 night residential trip to train all the relevent intern together and give us all the basis knowledge we needed. There are also training and information session organised throughout the internship and online training available. We are also required to complete online competencies which give good knowledge of business policies.
Very appealing. I would definitely work for the company in the future if I was offered the opportunity.
The Culture
The social event for the intern were arranged by the interns. There were no social events for intern arranged by the company.
I was able to stay with family and the cost of socialising was reasonable.
The nightlife was good with a variety of places for different tastes.
There were no activities arranged outside of work.
