The Role
I found the background to the work that I was doing very interesting and my colleagues made it a very enjoyable place to work. As with everything there were some dull tasks that I had to do, but on the whole I think that it was very good.
I would consistently receive praise from various colleagues informally. I was encouraged to be involved with the formal objectives and appraisal process as well which saw me gain well considered feedback from managers and colleagues, including things that I could do better.
There is plenty of training courses that you can go on - but it is up to you to make the most of these. Colleagues are always more than happy to help out. A lot of the time I would investigate things myself, which was encouraged, as I would often be able to come to a good solution on my own.
Varied but if you are a valuable resource then you will be snapped up by multiple projects and so will have little to no time with nothing to do. Project deadlines can be tight and require you to work at a fast pace, but I didn't find I was pressed to work ridiculous hours much.
Within a month or so I took on the Lead Business Analyst role without my account. This was very valuable as it gave me confidence that I was doing a good job. I was trusted to engage with clients and seniors alike.
Returning to my studies, I think I will find so many more hours in the day to study. I have been offered a contract for once I graduate, so this means that I will not need to be frantically searching for graduate positions in my final year. Whether or not I will still apply for other positions, i', not sure
The Company
Atmosphere was pretty relaxed and everyone that I worked with were up for a laugh. The impression that I got from everyone that works here, including those that have worked elsewhere, is that it is a very friendly company, without the aggression that some competing companies have. It is a company full of very interesting and intelligent people.
I have effectively just worked the first year of a graduate scheme. I pretty much followed the same training path that the grads do. It is up to you to make the most of the opportunities that are there. Going on appropriate training, attending events, requesting to work on interesting projects is all up to you and well worth it.
Thy were wiling for me to go on roughly 8 whole days worth of training over the year which is quite an investment bearing in mind that there is no guarantee that I will be providing. I feel that I paid back the training cost in the quality of my future work.

I have been offered a contract for a graduate position once I graduate. My account do not want me to leave. Although there is no guarantee, I am hopeful that I will get advanced promotion within a year or so upon returning due to my experience and skills developed whilst on this placement.
The Culture
There is a strong graduate community who organise fortnightly ish events. There is a lot that is available to you. I didn't make too much of this as it it takes me quite a long time to commute and if I was to go for drinks, it would more likely be with people in my account.
I lived at home so I saved a bit with that, but in turn had longer days due to the commute. It is London so rent and drinks are pricey. If you're going out with managers, often you won't be buying the drinks anyway.
Lots of pubs bars and clubs all over London so you will never be short of things to do. We tended to have a regular pub that we would go to, however the graduate events would be hosted at a variety of cool and interesting venues.
There's events that are organised by the company - Golf days, family fun days etc. I didn't go on any of these but there are things available. The graduate practice organise a lot of out of work events that I'm sure would be great if I went.
