About You
Very much so, great insight into the working environment, great social aspect.
Given a much greater level of responsibility than I initially expected, gave a great sense of value within the department.
All of the firm from trainees to managing partners made efforts to check on me and came to my office regularly to see how I was finding the experience.
Analytical and team working skills were vey focussed on during my time there, in both independent firm work and group exercises with other vacation scheme students.
The Company
Great structure with timetables provided at the start, although for those travelling longer distances a bit more notice for social events would have been useful, to allow for accommodation arrangements.
All members were extremely welcoming, and the social atmosphere was great with others on the scheme.
Multiple group exercises, and challenging but encouraging work to carry out independently.
I was given real, relevant work to the firm's current clients, and shown the level of work that several trainees were undergoing.
Inclusion of current employees in the Vacation Scheme social events gave a great window into the general lifestyle aspect of the company.
A variety of work was provided to give a more comprehensive impression of what to expect, and the path to get there.
Everything Else
Competitive pay to similar Firms.
Inclusion of current employees in the Vacation Scheme social events gave opportunities to meet members from all departments.
The events, especially the main Wednesday event, were very well organised although the style of the events on different weeks are varied. Our quiz was great, but many said the wine reception which was organised for the following week would not have been as attractive to them.
Presentations were given on many aspects of outside activities, including a wide range of sports and charitable activities, as well as company outings.
Definitely, it gave a real insight into the career and the more specific aspects of Walker Morris.
