About You
I enjoyed the insight thoroughly. Everyone at the firm was very friendly and the quality of work available was great.
The vac scheme students were made to feel very welcomed during our time here. We had various presentations and events planned specially for us. Everyone in the departments I sat in was very friendly and approachable.
The trainees were very helpful and supportive in answering any questions I had about the work I was given and about the firm in general. My supervisors also gave me very good feedback on the work I did.
I was exposed to real work during the scheme so the skills I have developed are directly applicable during my training contract in the future.
The Company
The insight was structured such that a lot of the activities were in the first two weeks, which gave us more time in our second seat in the third week and time to prepare for our training contract interviews.
All the other vac schemers were great fun and we mixed as a group very well.
The firm organised a lot of department presentations for us so that we would get a good idea of the different practice areas. The firm also made sure that all our questions would be answered and we would have many opportunities for networking.
We were all sat in the same room as our supervisors who are either Senior Associates or Partners so we had a good idea of the kind of work they undertake on a daily basis. We were also assigned trainee buddies whom we could ask any questions.
Three weeks in the firm gave me a good insight into the interaction between team members within the firm.
I got a good glimpse into what life would be as a city solicitor and it confirmed to me that it was what I wanted.
Everything Else
There were many networking events organised.
The partner drinks were very relaxed which made it very enjoyable. There were also many social events planned where we could interact with trainees.
Found out about pro bono activities and team sports but a lot of people didn't know too much about them.
Yes. I've had a very enjoyable time and I got a great insight into the firm.
