About You
Travelling to Windsor proved somewhat difficult, but once I got there the day was interesting. A very clear explanation was given of what the company did and we were gently introduced to the energy market. The lunch provided was good.
The emphasis was largely on the company, rather than the students present. However, they did emphasise how much the company values the people who work for them.
The group work activity was explained clearly. The rest of the day was structured clearly.
The CV/assessment centre session provided some useful tips. Most of the rest should only be helpful to the Centrica application process.
The Company
The day was clearly split into a number of sessions, each with clear purposes. The only issue was that the networking with current staff was supposed to happen during lunch. However, long queues for lunch meant that some people were unable to take part in this.
The team work activity helped to make sure people were lively. Most people seemed to like the company, making the atmosphere quite positive.
Not as part of the insight day, but they seemed to invest a lot in the people on the internship/graduate scheme program.
We had the opportunity to hear from multiple people currently working there.
Hugely - this was discussed extremely clearly and rather extensively,
It made me think that Centrica might be the place for me!
Everything Else
£50 of travel expenses was given. This was sufficient for people travelling from London, but not for most others, since getting to Windsor is difficult by train.
Limited, as these occurred mostly over lunch and queues for food were long.
Not applicable for the insight day.
Yes. These included volunteering (details were explained) and going to the company gym.
Yes, since the internship and graduate scheme seem interesting, and the day really helped to clarify what the company does.
