About You
I really enjoyed the Talent Academy as I met so many great people, both students and staff of PwC, and got an excellent insight into how the business operates in all lines of service not just the one I have applied to. The general talks on the lines of service at the beginning of day 1 could have been shorter but they were still informative.
I really felt like I'd worked very hard to be at the academy and felt that because of this I felt valued by the staff and they were all very interested in my ideas about my future.
I got a lot of advice by the senior partners of the firm during the networking event and dinner, and the presentations gave a lot of insight and guidance into the ways to succeed at the company.
The information about PwC has really made me more determined to work hard at my degree and build my skills in order to persevere for a career like those at PwC, and the skills I improved such as presentation and teamwork skills will assist me in applying for future opportunities.
The Company
There was a lot of activities packed into the 2 days, all which were very helpful however I felt it was a lot more focused on presentations by staff than student interaction. So I felt it was more informative about the company rather than building skills.
Very positive and enthusiastic. Everyone wanted us to feel comfortable and excited about the company and that had a great affect on my experience.
I got a more personal insight into PwC and how the work as a company, and they invested in all the students there by giving up their time to answer all our personal questions, especially the partners.
Talking to partners of the firm and other staff really helped me get an insight into what it would be like to work for PwC. The company made sure we personally got the information we wanted, as there were presentations on the individual lines of service we applied to. However in the general talks there wasn't one on technology, which I applied to, only an individual talk.
Greatly. I learnt a lot about the idea of 'One PwC' and the general culture prof the company, and made me even more excited about the prospect of pursuing a career with them.
It was valuable in finding out more about my chosen line of service, as well as a brief overview of some others as well.
Everything Else
Our food and accommodation was paid for by PwC.
Yes, there was a networking event and formal dinner with PwC partners in the evening of Day 1.
They were excellent, I had a great opportunity to talk with a range of partners and staff from all lines of service, and ask any questions I liked. The best part of the academy.
Yes I found out a lot about the time employees are able to spend to give back to the community or help charities.
Yes.
