About You
The insight was very enjoyable. The events were varied and diverse with emphasis placed on different parts of PwC. This includes learning first hand what it means to understand each other at PwC and spending quality time with PwC professionals during the networking sessions such as the dinner. There was also time to socialize with peers on the program, this included dinner on the first day and regular breaks throughout the academy. The sessions were of the correct difficulty and detail with not too much time spent analysing balance sheets, performing presentations on fictional company problem situations. This allowed more time to be spent on the things that students are interested in knowing about such as what the culture is like and what the values of the firm are.
Hugely valued. The entire program revolved around helping you understand what the role of an intern is at PwC and the career progression they take and how PwC helps you to achieve your personal objectives. HR were very helpful and ensured that the entire purpose of the program was to help you make a decision about whether PwC is the place for you. This took the form of conversations during dinner and lunch and networking events. Overall, the event ensured that there was enough PwC staff around so that all questions could be answered and it clearly shows the length they go to, to ensure you understand PwC and have the guidance and support needed to make the best decision.
As it was only a 2 day event, there was not much time for the development of extensive skills which can be used in the long term. It was more of an information session to allow you to assess PwC as a potential employer. For some people who may not have done public speaking, this could have been helpful due to the debating exercises and presentation aspect of the debates.
The Company
Very well structured. There were plenty of PwC staff around to make sure everything ran smoothly. Overall everything was well organised and everyone knew what was going on. It was clear that a lot of time had been spent on making sure the correct level and length of events were set. We were also given an info pack so that all the students knew what was going on and where all the events were taking place. Events were well planned so as soon as they began, everyone knew what was going on.
The atmosphere was consistently energetic, professional and the approachability of the employees made everyone feel very safe and valued. I have attended other big 4 insight events and this one made the most effort to replicate the company's environment in the venue to allow students to understand what they can expect on a day to day basis at the office. The buzz also made students more engaged, resulting in them getting more out of the program.

The specific division sessions allowed us to understand what type of careers consultants go on to and provided useful information on how we can go about obtaining further information on our own.
